The bigger picture
A huge aftermarket with an ageing vehicle parc.
Older vehicles need more parts. Customers expect the right part, first time, with full traceability.
Sound familiar?
The problems we hear from parts businesses.
Tens of thousands of SKUs, demanding customers and quality standards that leave no room for guesswork.
No lot or serial trail for recalls
When a supplier batch or a fitted part is suspect, nobody can say quickly which customers, vehicles or orders received it, so a targeted recall turns into a blanket one.
Fitment data lives in spreadsheets
Make, model and year compatibility is held in Excel and copied into each web store and marketplace, so listings drift and wrong-part returns climb.
OEM schedules keyed in by hand
Call-offs and delivery schedules arrive by portal, email or EDI and are re-typed into Sage, which leads to missed changes and expensive premium freight.
Too much of the wrong stock
Thousands of slow and fast moving SKUs are replenished by gut feel, so cash is tied up in slow lines while fast movers go out of stock.
Quality records on paper
Goods-in inspections, first-off checks and non-conformances sit in binders and shared drives, which makes IATF 16949 and customer audits painful.
Marketplace orders outside the ERP
Amazon and eBay orders are downloaded and processed separately, so stock is oversold and margins per channel are unknown.
When traceability lives in spreadsheets, one recall can cost more than a new system.
Follow one batch
Follow one batch of parts from supplier to vehicle.
Pick a stage and switch between how it runs today and how it runs in Odoo.
Buy and receive
Purchase orders are raised from a spreadsheet and goods-in has no record of supplier batch numbers.
Pick a stage, or switch between Today and With Odoo.
2-minute readiness check
Is your parts business outgrowing its systems?
Five quick questions for an honest view of whether Odoo would pay back.
- Would identifying every customer who received a suspect batch take hours?
- Do drawing or specification changes reach the floor by email?
- Do you run out of fast movers while slow stock piles up?
- Are marketplace orders keyed or exported by hand?
- Are non-conformances tracked in spreadsheets?

Odoo does not certify you, but it keeps the records IATF 16949 audits and recall procedures depend on.
The automotive quality management system standard that supplements ISO 9001:2015 for suppliers to the global automotive industry.
Odoo Quality control points, quality alerts, lot traceability and PLM change control provide system records that support the standard; certification itself remains a matter for the business and its auditor.
DVSA code setting out what aftermarket parts manufacturers should do when a safety defect is reported or a recall is issued.
Lot and serial traceability identifies affected batches and the customers who received them, so recall notices can be targeted.
Integrations
Connected to marketplaces, carriers and customers.
Orders from every channel, one stock position.

FAQs
Questions automotive parts businesses ask us
Straight answers to the questions automotive parts businesses ask us most. Something else on your mind? Ask a consultant.
Does Odoo support IATF 16949?
Odoo is not a certification in itself, but its Quality app gives you automated control points, pass-fail and measurement checks, and quality alerts for non-conformances. Combined with lot traceability and PLM change control, that gives your auditor system evidence instead of paper binders.
Can Odoo trace a faulty batch for a recall?
Yes. With lots or serial numbers enabled, the Inventory traceability report shows where a lot came from, where it was stored and which customers received it, and when. That lets you target a recall rather than contacting every customer.
Can Odoo handle make, model and year fitment?
Odoo has no built-in fitment database, so we model fitment using product attributes and imported compatibility data, and connect specialist catalogue sources where needed. We scope this carefully in discovery because fitment quality drives returns.
Does Odoo connect to Amazon and eBay?
Odoo has a native Amazon Connector that supports Amazon.co.uk, syncing FBA and FBM orders and pushing stock for merchant-fulfilled listings. eBay is not a native Odoo connector, so we use a proven third-party connector.
Can Odoo receive EDI schedules from OEMs?
Odoo does not include automotive EDI out of the box. We connect it through an EDI provider or a third-party module so call-offs land as sales orders without re-keying.
We run Sage 200 and spreadsheets. How hard is the move?
Most parts businesses we see are moving off Sage plus spreadsheets. We migrate products, open orders, stock and balances in phases, and our UK and India team keeps the project on a fixed scope so the business keeps trading.
How much does Odoo cost in the UK?
Odoo licences are priced per user. At October 2026, Odoo's UK list prices on annual billing are £22 per user per month for Standard and £41 for Custom (which adds Odoo.sh or on-premise hosting, Studio and multi-company), with a first-year discount to £18 and £32. One App Free covers a single app with unlimited users. Implementation is scoped separately after a free process review, so you know the full cost before you commit.
