The phases are the same whatever your size; the depth changes. Every phase has a named owner on both sides.

Requirements, scripted demos and a recommendation you can defend to the board.

Configuration on a test system, custom work only where it is justified, and regular demos.

Data migration
ERP data migration without the nasty surprises
Data migration is where ERP timelines most often slip. Customer, supplier and product records built up over years in Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, a legacy ERP or spreadsheets are rarely as clean as people expect.
We start by deciding what actually needs to move. Usually that is master data, opening balances, open sales and purchase orders, open invoices and current stock. Full transaction history normally stays in the old system for reference, which keeps the project shorter and the new ERP clean.
Then we run trial migrations into a test database, and your finance and operations leads check the results against the old system: trial balance, aged debtors and creditors, and stock valuation. Only when the numbers agree do we plan the final cutover. See Odoo migration.

Reducing ERP implementation risk
ERP projects carry more risk than most IT projects because they change how money, stock and orders move through the business. The main risks are well known: scope creep, over-customisation, poor data, too little user involvement and a rushed cutover.
We manage these deliberately. Scope is fixed in writing and changes go through a simple change process. Custom code is a last resort, which keeps upgrades affordable. Key users from each department test real scenarios before go-live. Cutover is rehearsed, with a clear decision point to proceed or wait.
