The bigger picture

Customers buy everywhere. Your stock has to keep up.

Online keeps growing, peaks are seasonal and every channel needs the same accurate stock figure.

Sound familiar?

The problems we hear from growing product brands.

Each new channel adds an app. Before long nobody trusts the stock figure.

When stock, orders and costs live in separate apps, margin leaks quietly at every handover.

  1. 01

    Overselling across channels

Shopify, Amazon, the B2B order book and the 3PL each hold a different stock figure, so the same last units get sold twice in peak season.

  2. 02

    Seasonal buying by guesswork

Spring garden ranges and summer sports lines are ordered months ahead from spreadsheets, leaving stock-outs in peak and clearance stock after it.

  3. 03

    Marketplace orders rekeyed

Amazon and webshop orders are downloaded and rekeyed into the accounts package, delaying dispatch and invoices.

  4. 04

    Two price worlds

Retailers need trade prices, quantity breaks and VAT-exclusive pricing while consumers see VAT-inclusive RRP, and both are managed separately.

  5. 05

    Returns that never reconcile

Consumer returns arrive by post, marketplace and 3PL with no single record, so refunds, restocking and write-offs drift apart.

  6. 06

    True landed cost unknown

Freight, duty and insurance on imported containers sit outside product cost, so channel margins look better than they are.

2-minute readiness check

Is your brand outgrowing its apps?

Five quick questions for an honest view of whether Odoo would pay back.

  • Have you oversold on one channel because stock had not synced?
  • Do you work out landed cost per product in a spreadsheet, if at all?
  • Are trade orders re-keyed from email into your accounts or warehouse?
  • Do you use three or more apps just to move an order to dispatch?
  • Do peak seasons stretch your team because of manual admin?

RequirementWhat it meansHow Odoo helps
01Consumer Contracts Regulations (online and distance selling)

Consumers can cancel within 14 days of receiving goods bought online, and refunds are due within 14 days of the item coming back.

Reverse transfers and credit notes record each return and refund against the original order, giving a clear audit trail of return dates.

02Making Tax Digital for VAT

VAT-registered UK businesses must keep digital records and file VAT returns using MTD-compatible software.

The Odoo UK localisation submits VAT returns to HMRC through the MTD-VAT API.

03Product safety and recalls (GB rules and EU GPSR for Northern Ireland and EU sales)

Brands must place only safe products on the market and be able to act on recalls; EU Regulation 2023/988 applies to goods sold in Northern Ireland.

Lot and serial number tracking shows which batch went to which customer or channel, supporting targeted recalls.

Integrations

Connected to your channels, carriers and payments.

Orders flow in, labels print, payments reconcile.

FAQs

Questions product brands ask us

Straight answers to the questions product brands ask us most. Something else on your mind? Ask a consultant.

Does Odoo integrate with Shopify?

Recent Odoo versions include a Shopify Connector that brings orders, products, customers, returns and refunds into Odoo and syncs inventory and fulfilments both ways. Where you need more, established third-party connectors from the Odoo Apps Store are available. We confirm the right option during discovery.

Does Odoo work with Amazon FBA and FBM?

Yes. The Odoo Amazon Connector syncs FBA and FBM orders, pushes FBM stock and shipment confirmations to Amazon, follows FBA stock in a virtual location and supports multiple seller accounts and marketplaces.

Can we sell to retailers and consumers from one system?

Yes. Odoo eCommerce supports B2B and B2C, with tax-excluded trade pricing, hidden prices and invitation-only accounts for retailers, alongside a consumer shop, all on one catalogue and stock.

How does Odoo help with seasonal demand?

Reordering rules and the replenishment report propose purchases from demand, and blanket orders fix supplier prices across a season, so you buy ahead of peaks with data rather than guesswork.

Can Odoo show our true margin on imported products?

Yes. Landed costs add freight, insurance and customs duties to product valuation, so margin reports reflect the real cost of each unit.

How are returns handled?

Returns are processed with reverse transfers and credit notes against the original order, and Helpdesk after-sales lets your service team issue refunds, returns and repairs straight from a ticket.

How much does Odoo cost in the UK?

Odoo licences are priced per user. At October 2026, Odoo's UK list prices on annual billing are £22 per user per month for Standard and £41 for Custom (which adds Odoo.sh or on-premise hosting, Studio and multi-company), with a first-year discount to £18 and £32. One App Free covers a single app with unlimited users. Implementation is scoped separately after a free process review, so you know the full cost before you commit.
