What is Zoho Creator?
Zoho Creator is Zoho’s low-code application platform, which Zoho now describes as AI-native. It combines a drag-and-drop builder with the Deluge scripting language, generates web and native iOS and Android apps, supports external portals, and offers over 1,000 prebuilt integrations. It suits business process apps rather than consumer apps.
How long does it take to build a custom app?
It depends on the scope. We aim to put a working prototype in front of users early and get a focused first release live before adding further features. Larger multi-team systems are delivered in phases, each with its own sign-off, so you see value before the full scope is complete.
Can the app connect to Zoho CRM and Zoho Books?
Yes. Creator apps can share data with Zoho CRM, Books and other Zoho apps, and connect to third-party systems through APIs and prebuilt connectors. We design the data model so each record has one clear home and nothing is entered twice.
Will our team need to learn to code to maintain it?
No. Many changes, such as adding a field or adjusting a report, can be made in Creator’s visual builder. Logic written in Deluge is documented as part of handover. Many clients keep us on support for larger changes while handling small tweaks in-house.
Can customers or suppliers use the app?
Yes. Zoho Creator supports external portals for customers, vendors and partners. You control what each portal user can see and do, so they can submit requests, upload information or view their own records without access to anything else in your system.
Can we add AI to a Creator app?
Creator includes Zia features, and Zoho supports its own generative AI as well as third-party models from OpenAI, Google and Anthropic. Uses include in-app chatbots and asking questions of app data. We recommend AI only where it removes real effort and data is ready for it.
