Why migrations go wrong or right

The data you move decides the CRM you get.

Switching from Salesforce can cut cost and complexity. It only pays off if the data arrives clean and the team trusts the new system.

The Nucleus Research study was commissioned by Zoho. Your own saving depends on your editions, users and integrations.

Sound familiar?

Why teams leave Salesforce, and what holds them back.

The reasons are usually cost and complexity. The worries are data, automation and timing. Every one can be planned for.

A migration is the one chance to start clean. Rushing it just moves the mess somewhere more expensive.

01

Licences rise every renewal

Each renewal and each edition upgrade pushes the bill up faster than the team grows.

→ Fix: Zoho CRM editions and add-ons matched to each team, costed before you commit.

02

Admin needs a specialist

Simple changes wait for a Salesforce admin or contractor.

→ Fix: Zoho CRM set up so your own team can change layouts, fields and workflows.

03

Flows and Apex nobody owns

Automation built over the years is undocumented and fragile.

→ Fix: each flow reviewed, then rebuilt with Zoho Blueprint, workflows or Deluge functions.

04

AppExchange add-ons

Quoting, e-signature and data tools each carry their own licence.

→ Fix: add-ons matched to Zoho apps or extensions, including our own Companies House and postcode tools.

05

Messy data

Duplicates, dead records and half-filled fields built up over years.

→ Fix: audit, de-duplicate and archive before anything is imported.

06

Renewal deadline

The Salesforce renewal arrives before the switch is ready.

→ Fix: a cut-over planned around your renewal, with a rehearsed test migration first.

Before and after the move

A CRM you work around, or one that works for you.

The reasons UK firms switch are rarely about one feature. They are about cost, complexity and data nobody trusts.

How we migrate to Zoho CRM

From data audit to a confident cut-over.

Our SCALE method breaks the migration into clear phases with sign-off at each step, so you know what is moving, what is being left behind and when the switch happens.

Scope

Know exactly what you are moving

Zoho CRMZoho CRM

We profile your current CRM or spreadsheets: objects, record counts, custom fields, attachments, owners and data quality. Together we decide what moves, what is archived and what is left behind.

  • Objects, fields and record counts
  • Data quality and duplicate profiling
  • Attachments, notes and email history
  • Users, owners and territories
  • Archive and retention decisions

A migration scope you approve before any data moves.

Craft

Fix the data before it moves

Zoho CRMZoho CRM

Zoho’s migration wizard does not check for duplicates, and records missing mandatory fields are skipped. So we merge duplicates, standardise values and fill gaps in the source data first.

  • Duplicate matching and merge rules
  • Standardised picklists and addresses
  • Mandatory fields completed
  • Dead and test records archived
  • Owners reassigned for leavers

Data your team can trust on day one.

Assemble

Map every field, then rehearse

Zoho CRMZoho CRM

We map objects to Zoho modules and fields to fields, create the custom fields you need and run test migrations into a sandbox or trial account. Counts and samples are reconciled with your team after every run.

  • Object to module mapping
  • Field and picklist mapping
  • Relationships and lookups preserved
  • Test migration and record-count checks
  • Sample review by your users

No surprises on cut-over day.

FAQs

Salesforce to Zoho CRM: your questions answered.

Cannot see your question? Our UK consultants are happy to talk it through.

Can Zoho CRM do what Salesforce does?

For most small and mid-sized sales teams, yes: pipelines, territories, quotes, forecasting, Blueprint process automation, Zia AI and analytics. Complex orgs with heavy Apex code need a fit review first, which we do before you commit. See Zoho CRM vs Salesforce.

Does Zoho provide a Salesforce migration tool?

Zoho CRM's migration wizard can import Salesforce data exports, but it does not decide what to clean, merge or rebuild. We prepare and de-duplicate the data first, run test imports and reconcile record counts before go-live.

What happens to our Salesforce flows and Apex code?

They do not move automatically. We review each one, then rebuild what you still need with Zoho Blueprint, workflow rules, assignment rules or Deluge functions.

Will we lose history and attachments?

No. Activities, notes and files can be migrated with their parent records, and we agree in advance how much history to bring across.

How do we time the switch around our Salesforce contract?

We plan back from your renewal date so Zoho CRM is live and tested before the contract ends, with a short overlap if you need one.

How much will Zoho CRM cost?

It depends on edition and users. See current UK licence prices on our Zoho pricing UK page. Licences are paid to Zoho; migration work is quoted separately after scoping.

How long does a Salesforce to Zoho CRM move take?

A few weeks for a standard Sales Cloud org; longer with custom objects, Apex logic or integrations. You get a timeline after a free scoping call.

Do you support Zoho CRM after go-live?

Yes. Our UK team provides ongoing support and improvements through Zoho support.
