In one sentence
What does moving from SAP Business One to Odoo mean?
It means moving your business partners, items, open documents and balances from SAP Business One into Odoo, and replacing user-defined fields, add-ons and Crystal reports with standard Odoo features, configuration and reports. Data is extracted, cleansed, mapped and loaded through Odoo's import framework, then reconciled before you switch.
- 01Why now
- SAP lists December 2026 as the end of mainstream maintenance for Business One 10.0.
- 02What moves across
- Chart of accounts, business partners, items and warehouses, open documents, balances and chosen history.
- 03Add-ons and UDFs
- Each user-defined field, add-on and report reviewed, then configured, rebuilt or retired.
- 04Typical timeline
- A few months in phases, depending on add-ons, integrations and data quality.
Why it matters
Every Business One release reaches its end date, and add-ons make upgrades harder.
SAP publishes a maintenance end date for each Business One release. Every add-on and customisation has to be checked again at each upgrade.
end of mainstream maintenance for SAP Business One 10.0, per SAP (dates subject to change)
SAP Business One maintenance →and all earlier Business One releases are already out of mainstream maintenance
SAP Business One maintenance →median ERP project timeline across all vendors (170 respondents)
Panorama ERP Report, 2026 →average yearly cost of poor data quality to organisations, which is why we cleanse before we load
Gartner, 2020 →SAP dates are from SAP’s Business One maintenance page. Panorama and Gartner figures cover ERP and data projects generally.
Migration risks
What is keeping you on SAP Business One?
Most firms stay on Business One for the same few reasons. Every one of them can be planned for.
None of these is unusual. Each one is a planning task, and we show you the order to tackle them in.
Our reseller built it
User-defined fields, queries and add-ons were set up by a reseller years ago.
→ Fix: a review of every UDF and add-on, mapped to standard Odoo or rebuilt cleanly.
Crystal reports everywhere
Key reports and document layouts depend on Crystal Reports templates.
→ Fix: reports and layouts rebuilt in Odoo and checked against the originals.
A licence for every extra
Each extra user type or add-on adds another licence line.
→ Fix: a like-for-like licence comparison with Odoo before you decide.
Upgrades are projects
A new release means re-testing every add-on and integration.
→ Fix: one platform, with integrations retested as part of the move.
Data spread across tools
CRM, eCommerce and service data live outside Business One.
→ Fix: CRM, eCommerce, helpdesk and field service on the same Odoo database.
We cannot afford downtime
A single untested cut-over leaves no room to learn how long loads really take.
→ Fix: timed trial migrations and a rehearsed cut-over runbook.

How we migrate
Rehearse the move until cut-over is routine.
Within our SCALE method, migration runs as its own workstream with signed-off checkpoints. Data is profiled, cleansed and loaded into a test database several times before anything touches the live system.
Scope
Find out what you really have
We extract data from your current system and spreadsheets, then measure it: record counts, duplicates, blanks and inconsistencies. For upgrades, we review every custom and third-party module. You see the real picture before anyone commits to a date.
- Data quality report by object
- Inventory of every source system
- Custom and third-party module register
- Agreed list of what migrates
- History and archive decision
No surprises later about the state of your data or code.

Craft
Decide where every field belongs
Every source field is matched to its Odoo equivalent, and original references are kept as external IDs so migrated records can always be traced back. Your data owners agree the cleansing rules; we apply them consistently.
- Field-by-field mapping document
- External IDs back to the source system
- Duplicate merge rules agreed
- Chart of accounts and tax mapping
- Import templates per object
A mapping your team understands and signs off.

Build
Replace add-ons with configuration
While data is cleansed, we configure Odoo: chart of accounts, warehouses, pricelists, approvals and document layouts, and replace your Business One add-ons and UDFs with standard features or clean modules.
- UDF and add-on review
- Pricelists and approvals configured
- Crystal reports rebuilt
- Add-ons replaced by apps or connectors
- Integrations retested end to end
A working Odoo your teams can test with their own data.
Assemble
Load, check and repeat
We load the data into a test database, check it with your team, fix what is wrong and load again. Each trial is timed, so the real cut-over window is known long before go-live.
- At least two full trial loads
- Timed load runbook
- Exceptions log with owners
- User checks on real records
- Fixes applied at source or in rules
Go-live is a repeat of something that has already worked.

Launch
Prove the numbers, then switch
Balances, stock values and aged debt are reconciled line by line and signed off by your finance team. Then we follow the rehearsed runbook: freeze, final load, validation checks, and Odoo opens for business.
- Trial balance reconciled
- Aged debtors and creditors matched
- Stock quantities and values matched
- Go or no-go checkpoint
- Hypercare after go-live
A planned switch, not a leap of faith.
