Mailing lists in Odoo Email Marketing help you reach the right audience—whether it’s potential leads, focus groups, or loyal customers. Use them for pre-sales promotions, post-sales follow-ups, newsletters, or targeted campaigns. You can easily create, import, or export mailing lists, and even connect them to your Odoo website to capture new subscribers automatically.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Create a Mailing List
  • Go to Email Marketing → Mailing Lists → Mailing Lists → New.
  • Enter a name in the Mailing List field.
  • Tick Show in Preferences if you want recipients to manage their subscription.
  • Use the Send Mailing or Send SMS buttons to create a campaign directly from this page.
    • Send SMS appears only if the SMS Marketing app is installed.
  • Monitor performance with smart buttons that display:
    • Recipients – total subscribers
    • Mailings – campaigns sent
    • % Bounce, % Opt-out, % Blacklist – key engagement metrics
  1. Add Contacts to a Mailing List

You have several options:

  • Directly from the list: Go to Email Marketing → Mailing Lists → Mailing Lists, click Total Contacts next to your list, and add or import contacts.
  • Import contacts: Click Import Contacts, paste email addresses or upload a file with details like company name or country.
  • From a master list: Navigate to Email Marketing → Mailing Lists → Mailing List Contacts, select a contact, and use Add a line under the Mailing List column.
  • To remove someone, check Opt Out on their contact form.
  1. Link a Mailing List to Your Website

Capture subscribers directly from your site:

  • Open the Website app and click Edit.
  • Search for Newsletter in the sidebar.
  • Drag and drop a Newsletter Block, Newsletter Popup, or Newsletter Field onto your page.
  • In the right sidebar, select your mailing list under Newsletter and click Save.
    Now, anyone who subscribes on your site is added automatically to your mailing list.
  1. Export Mailing Lists
  • Export lists as a downloadable file or share them with Knowledge, Dashboards, or Spreadsheets apps for deeper analysis.
