Odoo Sales online payment lets customers confirm a sales order by paying online, directly from the quotation. This guide covers how to turn the feature on and what happens once a customer pays.

How to activate online payment

  1. Go to Sales > Configuration > Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Quotations & Orders section and tick Online Payment.
  3. Click Save. A Default Quotation Validity field beneath it sets how many days a quotation stays valid by default.

Enable payment on a quotation

  1. Open a quotation and go to the Other Info tab.
  • In the Online Confirmation section, tick Payment. This makes the Accept & Pay option available to the customer.

    • Payment Providers configured and published on the Payment Providers page determine which payment methods the customer sees.

    How customers confirm orders with online payment

    1. The customer opens the quotation in their Customer Portal and clicks Accept & Pay.
    2. A Validate Order pop-up shows the available payment methods.
    3. The customer selects a method and clicks Pay to complete the transaction.

    Once payment completes, the sales order is confirmed automatically and the assigned salesperson is notified straight away in the chatter of the sales order.

    Which payment options do customers see?

    Only the payment methods that are configured and published on the Payment Providers page appear to the customer.

    Does the salesperson need to confirm the order manually after payment?

    No. Once payment completes, the sales order confirms automatically and the salesperson is notified in the chatter.

    Can online payment be required on a quotation template?

    Yes, the Payment option can be enabled in the Online Confirmation field of a quotation template, as well as on individual quotations.
