How suggested features speed up model creation

When creating a new model or app in Studio, up to 14 suggested features can be added to bundle common fields, settings and views together. Examples include:

• Contact details: adds a contact field to the form and list views, plus a Map view.
• User assignment: adds a Responsible field limited to internal users.
• Date & Calendar or Date range & Gantt: adds date fields and activates the Calendar or Gantt view.
• Pipeline stages: adds a Kanban view with New, In Progress and Done stages.
• Tags, Picture, Notes, Monetary value, Company, Custom Sorting, Chatter and Archiving: each add the matching field, view or behaviour.

Most of these features can also be added later, but choosing them upfront makes initial setup quicker, and some combine well together, such as Picture with Pipeline stages on a Kanban view.

How to export and import customisations

Every Studio change is stored in a module called studio_customization. To move it to another database:

1. Open Studio from the main dashboard and click Export.
2. Choose to export all customisations, or configure specific models, then click Export to download a ZIP file.
3. On the destination database, which must run the same Odoo version with the same apps installed, open Studio, click Import, upload the ZIP file, and click Install.
