Project dashboard

The Odoo Project dashboard gives a real-time overview of a project’s status: tasks, timesheets, planned hours, milestones and, for billable projects, its budget and profitability. It suits project managers who need one place to check whether a project is on track.

How to open the project dashboard

1. Open the Project app and select the project.
2. Click the sliders icon at the top right and add Dashboard to the top bar.

You can also hover over a project’s Kanban card, click the vertical ellipsis, and choose Dashboard.

What the dashboard shows

The left side lists project updates. The right side shows smart buttons and sections for records linked to the project, which vary depending on which apps (Timesheets, Planning, Accounting) are installed:

• Tasks: completed versus total tasks, with a completion percentage.
• Timesheets: hours or days logged, validated or not.
• Planned: hours planned in the Planning app, including unpublished shifts.
• Documents: files in the project’s workspace.
• Burndown Chart and Timesheets and Planning: reports comparing planned and actual work.

Milestones, profitability and budgets

Where enabled, Milestones can be added, marked complete or deleted; overdue ones show in red and completed ones in green. Billable projects show a Profitability breakdown of costs and revenue, and projects with a budget set in the Accounting app show Budget status.

How to create a project update

1. From the dashboard, click New.
2. Set Status (On Track, At Risk, Off Track, On Hold or Done) and Progress.
3. Add a Description with notes on the project.

Date and Author fill in automatically. The status is shown as a coloured dot on the project’s Kanban card.
