Split and merge manufacturing orders

Odoo Manufacturing lets you split one manufacturing order into several smaller orders, or merge several orders for the same product into one. This helps when production needs to be shared across shifts or work centres, or when separate orders for the same item should be run together.

Before you start

A manufacturing order can only contain one unit of a product, or multiple units of a single product using the same bill of materials (BoM). Orders can only be merged when every one of them uses the same product and BoM.

How to split a manufacturing order

1. Go to Manufacturing app > Operations > Manufacturing Orders and open the order.
2. Click the settings (cog) icon next to the order’s reference number, and select Split.
