Introduction

Odoo Events helps you plan, manage, and track all your events in one place. From creating events to selling tickets and analyzing attendees, Odoo provides a detailed dashboard and powerful settings to make event management simple. Using Odoo Events, you can improve decision-making, boost engagement, and ensure your events run smoothly.

Step-by-Step Instructions

 

Accessing the Events Dashboard

  1. Open the Events app in Odoo.
  2. By default, the dashboard shows the Kanban view with event stages:
    • New
    • Booked
    • Announced
    • Ended (folded to the right)
    • Cancelled (folded to the right)
  3. Each event card displays:
    • Event name and date
    • Location
    • Expected attendees
    • Scheduled activities
    • Status and responsible person

Tip: Drag and drop event cards between stages to quickly update their status.

Creating a New Event

  1. Click the “+” icon at the top of any stage in the Kanban view.
  2. Fill in the blank card with:
    • Event name
    • Start and end dates and times
  3. Click Add to save quickly, or Edit to configure detailed settings on a separate page.

 

Configuring Event Settings

 

Go to Events → Configuration → Settings to customize your events. Key sections include:

 

Events Section

  • Schedule & Tracks: Create and manage talks, lectures, or presentations.
  • Live Broadcast: Stream tracks online via YouTube.
  • Event Gamification: Share quizzes after tracks to engage attendees and gather insights.
  • Online Exhibitors: Showcase sponsors and exhibitors on event pages.
  • Jitsi Server Domain: Integrate external conferencing for virtual events.
  • Community Chat Rooms: Create online discussion rooms for attendees.
  • Booth Management: Create, price, and sell event booths.

Registration Section

  • Tickets: Sell tickets through standard sales orders.
  • Online Ticketing: Offer tickets for sale directly on your website/eCommerce store.

Attendance Section

  • Use Event Barcode: Enable barcode and QR code scanning for quick check-ins.
  • Barcode Nomenclature: Customize the default format for attendee tracking.

Tips

  • Use event templates to speed up the creation of recurring events.
  • Analyze the Revenue Report to measure the financial success of each event.
  • Enable Live Broadcast and Gamification to increase attendee engagement.
  • Display Online Exhibitors to attract more partners and sponsors.
  • Track attendees efficiently with barcode scanning to save time at the registration desk.
