Odoo Inventory locations are specific spaces within a warehouse, such as a shelf, aisle or room, used to organise stock and control how it moves.

Before you start

Go to Inventory app > Configuration > Settings, and under Warehouse tick Storage Locations, then Save.

Enter a Location Name and, if it sits inside another location, its Parent Location to build a hierarchy.
Optionally set the Location Type, Storage Category, Company, whether it is a scrap location, and a Barcode if the Barcode app is installed.
To schedule regular stock counts, set Inventory Frequency in days; Odoo then calculates the Next Expected count date from the Last Inventory date.
Optionally choose a removal strategy under Logistics, such as First In First Out (FIFO) or First Expiry First Out (FEFO), to control picking order.

Opening a location’s form gives smart buttons to view its Current Stock, the Products held there, and any Putaway Rules that apply.
