Overall equipment effectiveness

Odoo Manufacturing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) measures the percentage of a work centre’s active time that is fully productive, helping teams spot the causes of downtime.

Before you start

OEE needs the Work Orders feature enabled, in Manufacturing app > Configuration > Settings, under Operations.

Efficiency settings that affect OEE

On a work centre’s General Information tab, three fields affect its OEE:

• Time Efficiency: how its actual speed compares to the expected duration on the BoM. 100% matches the expected time; less means slower, more means faster.
• Capacity: how many units it can process in parallel; a lower capacity spreads the expected duration across more units.
• OEE Target: the goal percentage of fully productive time, set at 100% or below.

What reduces OEE

• Reduced speed: a work order takes longer than its expected duration.
• Material availability: the work centre is ready but required components are not in stock or are reserved elsewhere.
• Equipment failure: the work centre is blocked, for example by a maintenance request, due to a breakdown or scheduled maintenance.

How to view OEE reporting

1. Go to Manufacturing app > Reporting > Overall Equipment Effectiveness for all work centres, shown as a bar chart by default.
2. Or open a specific work centre and click its OEE smart button for a pie chart of its own data.
3. Switch between bar, line and pie charts, or use the pivot or list view, using the buttons above the chart.
