Manage sales teams

Odoo CRM sales teams group salespeople together with their own assignment rules, targets and pipeline. This guide covers how to create and configure a sales team.

How to create a sales team

1. Go to CRM > Configuration > Sales Teams and click New.
2. Enter a name in the Sales Team field.
3. Select a Team Leader from the drop-down.
4. Set an Email Alias so a message sent to that address automatically creates a lead or opportunity for the team, and choose who mail is accepted from: Everyone, Authenticated Partners, Followers Only, or Authenticated Employees.
5. In a multi-company database, select a Company for the team.

If the Sales app is installed, an Invoicing Target field also appears, setting the team’s revenue target for the current month and feeding the invoicing progress bar on the team dashboard.

How to add team members

1. On the team’s configuration page, click Add under the Members tab.
2. Select the salespeople to add to the team.

Assignment rules

Sales teams can also be given assignment rules, such as a minimum probability, so incoming leads matching those rules are routed to the team automatically. This works alongside the Leads feature and predictive lead scoring.
