How to activate the Manufacture route

  1. Go to Manufacturing app > Products > Products and open or create the product.
  2. On the Inventory tab, tick Manufacture under Routes.

Optional: lot or serial number tracking

To assign a lot or serial number to newly manufactured units, set Tracking to By Lots or By Unique Serial Number in the Traceability section of the same tab. This adds a Lot/Serial Number field to the manufacturing order.

and a Register Production step on the work order card in Shop Floor.

How to configure a bill of materials

  1. Open the product and click its Bill of Materials smart button, then New.
  1. The Product field fills in automatically; set the Quantity the BoM produces.
  2. On the Components tab, click Add a line for each component and set its Quantity.
  1. On the Operations tab (only visible once Work Orders is enabled in Manufacturing app > Configuration > Settings), click Add a line, name the operation and pick its Work Center, then Save & Close.
