Odoo PLM, short for Product Lifecycle Management, manages changes to products and bills of materials through a controlled review and approval process. It suits manufacturers who need to test, iterate and sign off product or process changes before they reach the shop floor.

What Odoo PLM does

PLM adds structured change management on top of the Manufacturing app’s bills of materials, so proposed changes go through testing, collaboration and stakeholder review before they are implemented. Key stakeholders can approve changes before they take effect, reducing the risk of unreviewed changes reaching production.

Installing PLM

PLM is not installed automatically with Manufacturing, even though it works with Manufacturing bills of materials. It must be installed separately from the Apps app to make use of its change management and approval features.
