Introduction

In retail, you may need to process sales that require quotations or sales orders directly from your Point of Sale (POS) system. Odoo Point of Sale is fully integrated with Odoo Sales, allowing you to create, review, and pay for sales orders without leaving the POS interface. This helps streamline operations and ensures a seamless customer experience.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open the POS Session

Go to the Point-of-Sale
Start a new session.

2. Access Sales Orders and Quotations

On the POS interface, click Quotations/Orders.
This opens a list of all quotations and sales orders from the Sales application.

Tip: Use filters such as Customer or Order Reference to quickly find the right order. If you select a customer before clicking Quotations/Orders, the list will only show that customer’s orders.

3. Select a Sales Order

From the list, choose the relevant quotation or sales order to process.

4. Apply a Down Payment or Settle the Order

Partial Payment (Down Payment)
- Click Apply a down payment.
- Enter the percentage of the order amount the customer wants to pay.
- Confirm by clicking OK, then proceed with the order.
Full Payment
- Click Settle the order.
- The order is paid in full, and the POS session updates accordingly.

Note: If a down payment was already made, Odoo automatically deducts it from the final settlement.

Speed up searches: Pre-select the customer to filter orders faster.
Avoid errors: Double-check the quotation or sales order reference before making payments.
Use down payments wisely: Ideal for custom orders or deposits where the customer only pays part upfront.
