Introduction

Social marketing campaigns help businesses reach their target audience effectively. Whether you’re launching a new product, promoting a service, or advertising an event, campaigns allow you to communicate directly with customers across multiple channels.

 

Odoo’s Social Marketing application acts as a central hub, letting you plan, post, track, and analyze campaigns from a single dashboard. By using multiple channels like email, SMS, push notifications, and social media posts, your campaigns can maximize visibility and engagement.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Access the Campaigns Page
  • Open the Social Marketing app.
  • Click Campaigns in the header menu.
  • The Campaigns dashboard opens in default Kanban view, showing all campaigns.

View Options:

  • Kanban – Visual pipeline view.
  • List – Structured table view.
  • Tip: Switch between views using the menu in the upper-right corner, beneath the search bar.
  1. Manage Campaign Stages
  • Hover over a stage title to see the gear icon next to the + (plus) sign.
  • Click the gear icon to access:
    • Fold – Minimize a stage column. Click the folded column to restore it.
    • Edit Stage – Change the stage name or sequence. Click Save when done.
    • Delete – Remove the stage completely.

Add New Stage:

  • Scroll right on the Campaigns dashboard.
  • Click Add a Column, enter stage details, and click Add.
  1. Create a New Campaign
  • On the Campaigns dashboard:
    • Click the quick add + (plus sign) on a stage in Kanban view, or
    • Click Create in the top-left corner.
  • Fill in:
    • Campaign Name
    • Responsible person
    • Tags
  • Click Add to save the campaign to the database.
  1. Edit Campaigns
  • Access a campaign template by:
    • Clicking Edit from the Quick Add drop-down, or
    • Selecting the campaign in Kanban or List view, or
    • Using the ⋮ (three dots) menu on the campaign and choosing Edit.
  • The Campaign Template page allows you to:
    • Modify campaign details
    • Add content and communications
    • Schedule postings across channels

Important: To send emails, enable Mailing Campaigns in Email Marketing › Configuration › Settings. To send SMS, install Odoo SMS Marketing.

  1. Add Content and Communications

On the Campaign Template page, use the buttons in the upper-left corner to create content:

  1. Send New Mailing – Open a blank email template and customize messages.
  2. Send SMS – Create SMS campaigns for your contacts.
  3. Send Social Post – Post to social media accounts already linked to Odoo.
  4. Push Notification – Pre-select push notifications to target website visitors.

After creating content:

  • Odoo returns to the campaign template page.
  • New content appears in its corresponding tab (Mailings, SMS, Social Media, Push Notifications).
  • Analytical smart buttons (e.g., Revenues, Leads, Quotations) appear at the top for quick insights. Click any button for a detailed report.

Tips

  • Use multiple channels to maximize campaign reach.
  • Keep campaign stages updated for better workflow tracking.
  • Check analytics regularly to measure performance and ROI.
  • Integrate with Odoo apps like Sales, CRM, Invoicing, and Website for streamlined operations.
