This overview introduces Odoo Data Cleaning, the app behind deduplication, record recycling and field formatting.

What Data Cleaning provides

Deduplication rules group similar records and merge them into a chosen master record. Recycle rules flag records that have not been updated in a set period so they can be archived or deleted. Field cleaning rules standardise formatting, such as trimming spaces or fixing capitalisation, across a model’s records.
