Create opportunities from appointments

Odoo Appointments can automatically create a CRM opportunity from every booking, so a new appointment becomes a sales lead without any extra data entry. This requires the CRM app to be installed.

How to enable opportunity creation

  1. Go to the Appointments dashboard.
  2. Click New to create an appointment type, or open an existing one via Action > Edit.
  3. In the Options tab, tick Create Opportunities to link bookings to the CRM pipeline.

Adding custom questions

Custom questions are optional but useful: open the Questions tab, click Add a line, enter a question and answer type, and mark it Mandatory if needed. The answers give the sales team context before the meeting and useful detail for follow-up.

How to view the new opportunity

  1. Go to the CRM app and remove any filters to see all opportunities.
  2. Click the Kanban card for the new opportunity.

The record includes the customer’s contact details from the booking, the answers to any appointment questions under Internal Notes, and the scheduled appointment logged in the Chatter, where it can be edited.

For a resource-based appointment, the user who created the appointment type is set as the Salesperson. For a user-based appointment, the salesperson is the user the appointment was scheduled with.

Frequently asked questions

Does this feature work without the CRM app?

No, Create Opportunities is only visible and available on an appointment type if the CRM app is installed.

Who is set as the Salesperson on the new opportunity?

For a resource-based appointment, it is the user who created the appointment type; for a user-based appointment, it is the user the appointment was scheduled with.
