Odoo Inventory scrapping removes damaged or unusable stock from physical inventory, moving it to a virtual scrap location so stock counts stay accurate.

How to scrap from stock

  1. Go to Inventory app > Operations > Scrap and click New.
  2. Select the Product and Quantity to scrap.
  1. Check the Source Location and Scrap Location (defaults to Virtual Locations/Scrap), and tick Replenish Quantities if a reordering rule should trigger a replacement.
  2. Click Validate.

The Product Moves smart button then shows the details of the scrap. To see total scrapped quantities, go to Inventory app > Configuration > Locations, remove the Internal filter, open Virtual Locations/Scrap, and click its Current Stock smart button.

How to scrap during an existing operation

  1. From the Inventory overview, open a receipt, delivery or internal transfer that has not yet been completed.
  2. Click the cog icon and select Scrap.
  3. Select the Product (and Lot/Serial if tracked), adjust the Quantity, and click Scrap Products.

A Scraps smart button then appears on that operation, listing every scrap order created from it.

Where do scrapped products go?

To a virtual Virtual Locations/Scrap location, which is not a physical space but keeps them out of usable stock counts.

Can I scrap products during a receipt or delivery?

Yes, use the cog icon on the operation and select Scrap before it is completed.
