Configuration

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 284 views

Odoo Website configuration covers the site-wide settings that sit behind your pages: your domain name, cookie consent, language translations, and protection against spam.

What you can configure

  • Domain names: use the default odoo.com subdomain, register a free domain (Odoo Online), or connect a domain you already own.
  • Cookies bar: enable it under Website > Configuration > Settings, in the Privacy section, to ask visitors for consent before loading optional cookies.
  • Translate: publish your site in additional languages so visitors can browse in their own language.
  • Multi-website: run several distinct websites, each with its own domain and design, from one database.
  • Spam protection: reduce spam submissions on forms and comments.
  • Google Search Console and CDN: connect search tools and speed up content delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a custom domain to launch my Odoo website?

No. Odoo Online databases work on an odoo.com subdomain by default, and Odoo Online customers get one free custom domain for a year if they want one.

How do I add a cookies consent bar?

Go to Website > Configuration > Settings and enable Cookies Bar in the Privacy section.
