How to Enrich Contacts with Partner Autocomplete in Odoo CRM

Keeping a contacts database complete and accurate takes time. Odoo CRM’s partner autocomplete feature fills in verified company details automatically as a new company contact is typed.

How to activate partner autocomplete

  1. Go to the Settings app.
  2. Scroll to the Contacts section.
  3. Tick Partner Autocomplete.
  4. Click Save.

How to add an enriched company contact

  1. In any module, such as CRM or Sales, start creating a new contact.
  2. Type the company name in the Customer field and select it from the suggested matches.

Odoo fills in the business name and logo, phone number, email, tax ID, address, and UNSPSC activities as tags. A company that has already been entered manually in Contacts cannot be enriched this way.

Partner autocomplete uses IAP credits. Manage these under Settings > Contacts, using Buy credits next to Partner Autocomplete, or View My Services under Odoo IAP. If credits run out, only the company’s logo and website populate.

Tips for using partner autocomplete

  • Use it at the point of lead or contact creation, so records start out complete.
  • It works the same way across CRM, Sales, Helpdesk and other modules.
  • It is for company-level data only. Avoid using it to look up individual people, to help stay compliant with data protection rules.
  • Enterprise subscriptions and demo or training databases include free credits to try it.
