Creating field service tasks

1. Manual Task Creation

You can create a task directly inside the Field Service app.

• Open the Field Service
• Navigate to Field Service → All Tasks → All Tasks.
• Click New.
• Enter a Task Title, select the Customer, and fill in any optional details.
• Click Save to finish.

This method is best for quick, one-off jobs or when tasks don’t originate from other apps.

2. Task Creation from a Sales Order

Automating task creation from sales orders saves time and reduces errors.

• Create a quotation and add a service product.
• Confirm the sales order.
• Odoo automatically creates a related field service task in the linked project.
• To view it, open the sales order and click the Tasks smart button.

This ensures service delivery is directly tied to customer sales.

3. Task Creation from a Helpdesk Ticket

If you’re using the Helpdesk app, you can convert customer issues into field service tasks.

• Open the Helpdesk
• Create a task directly from the ticket to assign it to your field service team.

This helps your support team seamlessly escalate issues to on-site services.
