How to create Warehouses

Estimated reading: 3 minutes 83 views

Introduction

Warehouses are essential components in any inventory management system. In Odoo 18, a warehouse represents a physical location where goods are stored, such as a distribution center, a storage facility, or a retail store. Setting up warehouses correctly in the Inventory app ensures smooth internal stock transfers, deliveries, receipts, and manufacturing operations.

What is a Warehouse in Odoo?

In Odoo, a warehouse is not just a place to store products — it plays a key role in managing your logistics and inventory workflows. By default, every Odoo database includes one pre-configured warehouse using the company’s primary address.

However, Odoo allows users to create multiple warehouses to represent different physical sites. This enables organizations to manage stock movements between different locations efficiently.
