Online signatures for order confirmations

Introduction

In Odoo Sales, customers can confirm sales orders using an online signature. This feature allows for a smooth and secure order confirmation process, where the customer signs the quotation electronically through the customer portal. Once signed, the salesperson is instantly notified, and the order is confirmed automatically.

Activate the Online Signature Feature

 

To allow customers to confirm orders with an online signature, the feature must first be enabled in the Sales application.

 

To activate it:

Navigate to SalesConfigurationSettings.

2. In the Quotations & Orders section, enable the checkbox labeled Online Signature.

 

3. Click Save to apply the changes.

When using a quotation template, the online signature can be enabled by selecting Signature in the Online Confirmation field of the template form.

 

For individual quotations, the signature option is available in the Other Info tab:

  • Go to the quotation.
  • Open the Other Info tab.
  • Under Online Confirmation, select Signature.

Confirming Orders with Online Signatures

 

When a customer views a quotation through the customer portal, a Sign & Pay button is displayed.

Upon clicking Sign & Pay, a Validate Order window appears. In this window:

  • The Full Name field is automatically populated based on the customer’s contact information.
  • The customer is prompted to provide a signature using one of the following options:
    • Auto: Generates a digital signature based on the customer’s name.
    • Draw: Allows the customer to manually draw their signature using a mouse or touchscreen.
    • Load: Lets the customer upload an image file of their signature.

Once the signature method is selected, the customer clicks Accept & Sign.

 

Online Payment and Order Confirmation

After signing, the available payment methods (if configured) are displayed. The customer can then proceed to pay for the order online.

If payment is completed successfully, the following occurs automatically:

  • The sales order is confirmed.
  • A delivery order is created, provided the Inventory application is installed.
