Introduction

Odoo’s Social Marketing app helps businesses manage all their social media marketing in one place. With this tool, you can create and schedule posts, monitor multiple social media accounts, analyze content performance, and engage directly with your audience all from a single dashboard.

 

Whether you’re a small business owner or part of a marketing team, Social Marketing makes it easy to streamline your social media strategy and save time.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Add Social Media Accounts

Before creating posts or analyzing content, you need to connect your business accounts:

  1. Open the Social Marketing app.
  2. Click Add a Stream in the upper-left corner.
  3. In the pop-up, choose a social media platform: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, or YouTube.
  4. Grant permission on the platform’s authorization page.
  5. Your account will now appear as a stream on the Social Marketing dashboard.

Tip: Personal profiles cannot be added. Only business accounts are supported.

  1. Link Social Media via the Social Media Page

You can also connect accounts through the Social Media page:

  1. Go to Social Marketing › Configuration › Social Media.
  2. Click Link Account next to your chosen platform.

Follow the login steps to connect the account.

 

Note: Instagram accounts require a linked Facebook account due to API restrictions.

 

  1. Manage Social Accounts

To view or edit linked accounts:

  1. Navigate to Social Marketing › Configuration › Social Accounts.
  2. Here you’ll see:
    • Account Name
    • Handle/Short Name
    • Platform
    • Creator
    • Associated Company
  3. Click any account to modify details or update settings.
  1. Manage Social Streams

To see all social streams:

  1. Go to Social Marketing › Configuration › Social Streams.
  2. You’ll find a list of all connected streams, including:
    • Social Media Platform
    • Stream Title
    • Stream Type (Posts, Keywords, etc.)
    • Creator
    • Associated Company
  3. Click a stream to edit its settings.
  1. Monitor Visitors

Track your website audience directly from Odoo:

  1. Navigate to Social Marketing › Visitors.
  2. View visitor details in Kanban, List, or Graph format.
  3. Send an Email or SMS to contacts already in your database.

This helps you understand who interacts with your content and engage your audience effectively.

Tips

  • Handle multiple companies carefully: Ensure each company activates pages simultaneously to avoid permission errors.
  • Page limits: Odoo cannot manage a very large number of pages (~40+) under the same company.
  • Facebook admin rights: You must be the administrator of a Facebook page to link it.
  • Use streams strategically: Each stream can represent a page, keyword, or post type for better content tracking.
