Introduction

The Odoo To-do app helps you stay on top of your personal tasks. Whether it’s small reminders, follow-ups, or work items, you can create, track, and manage everything in one place. Best of all, you can even connect your to-dos with the Odoo Project app for seamless project management. 

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Creating a To-do
  • Click New or the  button next to a stage name. 
     
  • Enter a title for your to-do. 
     
  • Click Add to save, or Edit to open more options. 
     

When editing a to-do, you can: 

  • Add Tags for easy organization. 
     
  • Assign it to users (this shares the to-do with them). 
     
  • Use the Odoo Editor to add details, media, or links. 
     

 Tip: Type / in the editor to format your content quickly 

 

  1. Adding a To-do on the Fly

Need to capture a task instantly? You can: 

  • Open the command palette with Ctrl + K, then click Add a To-do. 
     
  • Or click the clock button and select Add a To-do. 
     

 

  1. Converting To-dos into Project Tasks

If you use the Project app: 

  • Open a to-do. 
     
  • Click the gear icon Convert to Task. 
     
  • Choose a Project, Assignees, and Tags. 
     
  • Click Convert to Task.

Your to-do is now a project task and appears in the project pipeline.

 

4. Managing Your To-do Pipeline

  • Your assigned to-dos appear on the dashboard.

  • Drag and drop them to move between stages.

You can also:

  • Click + Personal Stage to create a new stage.

Use the gear icon next to a stage to Fold, Edit, or Delete it.

5. Scheduling Activities on a To-do

  1. Click the clock button on the dashboard.

  2. Select + Schedule an activity.

  3. Fill in:
  • Activity Type

  • Due Date

  • Assignee

  • Optional Summary or detailed notes in Log a note

Click Schedule.


Note: The “To Do” activity type does not create a new to-do task.

 

6. Viewing To-dos in the Project App

  • Open the Project app.

  • Go to My Tasks to see your private to-dos.

  • A padlock icon marks private tasks so you can tell them apart from project tasks.
