Introduction

With Odoo Building Blocks, you can design a professional website without needing to code. Simply drag and drop ready-made blocks, customize them to match your brand, and create engaging pages in minutes.
From text and images to forms, videos, and social media feeds, building blocks make website creation fast, flexible, and fun.

Whether you want to launch a simple landing page or a fully interactive website, Odoo gives you everything you need directly in the website editor.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Add a Building Block

Go to the page you want to edit.
Click Edit in the top right.
From the Blocks panel, drag and drop the block into the desired section of your page.
Choose between:
- Categories: Big sections like banners, features, and testimonials.
- Inner Content: Elements like text, images, or buttons that fit inside a category block.

2. Choose Block Templates

When you click a category block, a popup appears with multiple design templates.
Pick the style that best fits your content.

3. Add Inner Content

After placing a category block, drag and drop Inner Content blocks inside it.
Examples:
- Social Media Block: Add all your platforms in one place. Toggle on the networks you want, paste your URLs, and you’re done.
- Video/Image Blocks: Showcase visual content.
- Buttons: Drive action with clickable calls-to-action.

4. Use the Form Block

Add a Form block to collect visitor information.
By default, submitted forms send you an email.
Change the form’s Action in the Customize tab to:
- Apply for a Job (Recruitment)
- Create a Customer (eCommerce)
- Create a Ticket (Helpdesk)
- Create an Opportunity (CRM)
- Subscribe to Newsletter (Email Marketing)
- Create a Task (Project)
Set a redirect URL or choose Show Message after submission.
Add or edit form fields from the Customize

5. Embed Third-Party Content

Use the Embed Code block to insert YouTube videos, Google Maps, or Instagram posts.
Replace the placeholder with your custom embed code.

6. Move, Resize, or Delete Blocks

Move: Use arrows to reorder or shift blocks left/right in columns.
Resize: Drag the turquoise edges.
Delete: Click the trash icon.
Quickly change category: Use the exchange icon.

7. Customize Your Block

Go to the Customize tab to:
- Change text, colors, and backgrounds.
- Add shapes, images, or videos.
- Adjust layout to Grid or Columns.
- Reposition elements and set mobile-specific layouts.

8. Duplicate or Save Custom Blocks

Duplicate: Click the copy icon to clone a block.
Save: Store your customized block for reuse. Find it later under Custom Blocks in the Blocks panel.
Rename or delete saved blocks directly from the popup.

9. Create Anchor Links

Select the block you want to link to.
Click the link icon in the Customize tab.
Edit the anchor name and click Save & Copy.
Use this link anywhere on your site to jump directly to the block.

Tips for Using Building Blocks

Start with a clear structure: Place big section blocks first, then add inner content.
Use consistent colors and fonts for brand identity.
Test on mobile: Switch to mobile preview and adjust layouts for smaller screens.
Leverage Odoo apps: Some blocks require apps like eCommerce, Helpdesk, or Email Marketing—install them for more features.
Re-use saved blocks: Saves time and keeps your site consistent.
