Estimated reading: 4 minutes 85 views

Introduction

Connecting your business tools to Zoho Catalyst helps streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and improve development workflows. The Integrations settings in Zoho Catalyst allow you to configure and manage integrations with popular Zoho apps and third-party services including Zoho CRM, OpenAI, GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket.

With just a few steps, you can view, update, and remove these integrations across both development and production environments. This guide walks you through managing integrations efficiently in Zoho Catalyst.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Zoho CRM integration allows your Catalyst project to respond to CRM events using Zoho Event Listeners. You need an existing Zoho CRM account to connect it with Catalyst. Any edition of Zoho CRM, including the free version, is supported.

To integrate Zoho CRM in the development environment:

  1. Navigate to Integrations in the General Settings of your Catalyst console

  1. Select Zoho CRM and go to the Development tab
  2. Click Add Account
  3. Choose your existing Zoho CRM account from the dropdown
  4. Click Accept to grant the necessary permissions
  5. Catalyst will begin syncing with your CRM account, which usually takes 2 to 4 minutes
  6. Once completed, the status will show as Granted and the account will be ready for use with event listener rules

To integrate Zoho CRM in the production environment:

  1. Go to Integrations and select Zoho CRM
  2. Open the Production tab
  3. Click Add Account and select the relevant project
  4. Choose your Zoho CRM account and click Accept
  5. Catalyst will perform an organisation sync and display the status once complete

Note: Before deploying to production, all event listener rules must be linked to a production environment account. You will be prompted to complete this during the deployment process if not already done.

Revoke a Zoho CRM Integration

If you need to temporarily pause the connection to a Zoho CRM account:

  1. Click the ellipsis icon next to the account
  2. Select Revoke and confirm your action
  3. The account status will change to Revoked

You can restore access at any time by selecting Grant. Rules associated with this account will resume execution once access is granted again.

Delete a Zoho CRM Account

To permanently remove an account from Catalyst:

Click the ellipsis icon next to the account

  1. Select Delete and confirm your choice

All associated rules will be disabled. Re-adding the same account later will not automatically restore those rules. They must be manually reconfigured.

Delete the Zoho CRM Service

To remove all accounts and configurations for Zoho CRM:

  1. Click the ellipsis icon for the service at the top right
  1. Type DELETE in the confirmation prompt and click Confirm

All related accounts will be removed. Event Listener rules linked to those accounts will be disabled until reconfigured.

Configure OpenAI Integration

Catalyst supports OpenAI integration to power features such as Code Generator, Code Converter, Debugger, and Test Case Generator via the Zia AI Assistant. To use OpenAI services in Catalyst, you must supply your own API key.

To add an OpenAI API key:

  1. Go to Integrations and select OpenAI Integration
  2. Choose either an existing API key or generate a new one from OpenAI

Paste the secret key into the field and click Configure Key

  1. Read and accept the data privacy terms to proceed

Note: Only one API key can be configured per Catalyst organisation. All users in your org will share the same key.

To update your API key:

  1. Click the ellipsis icon in the OpenAI Integration section
  2. Select Edit, enter the new key, and click Update

To disable the API key:

  1. Click the ellipsis icon and choose Disable
  2. Confirm the action in the pop-up

Disabling the key stops access to all OpenAI-powered features. You can re-enable it at any time.

Connect to GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket

Catalyst integrates with GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket through Catalyst Pipelines, a CI/CD service designed to automate your development and deployment processes.

To integrate your Git repository:

  1. Go to Integrations and select the appropriate service (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket)
  2. Click Add Account
  1. Accept the terms and sign in using your credentials
  2. Authorise Zoho Catalyst to access your repository

The integration is now complete. You can add multiple accounts as needed.

To revoke a Git integration:

  1. Click the ellipsis icon next to the account
  2. Select Revoke and confirm your choice b

You can reconnect the account later if needed.

Note: Catalyst Pipelines uses a YAML configuration to automate actions such as cloning repositories, building code, and deploying applications. For more information, refer to the Catalyst Pipelines help documentation.

Tips

  • Always ensure event listener rules are correctly linked to either development or production accounts before deployment
  • Reconfiguring deleted accounts does not restore previous rule associations
  • Use a single OpenAI API key for your entire organisation to keep setup simple
  • Revoke access when pausing integrations rather than deleting them, to retain configuration settings
