Customers and Vendors in Zoho Inventory

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 302 views

Customers and vendors in Zoho Inventory are the contacts you do business with: customers are who you sell to, and vendors are who you buy from. Keeping their records accurate makes invoicing, purchasing and reporting easier.

What’s stored on a contact

  • Billing and shipping addresses, plus up to ten additional addresses.
  • Contact persons for the business.
  • Attached files, such as contracts, up to 5 files of 5MB each.
  • A full transaction history, including sales orders, invoices and purchase orders linked to that contact.

Customers and vendors together

If a contact is both a customer and a vendor, you can link them as one, rather than keeping duplicate records. You can also change a contact’s type, for example from an individual to a business.

Managing contacts

Rather than deleting a contact, Zoho Inventory recommends deactivating it, which preserves its transaction history. You can also clone, export, and merge duplicate contacts to keep your contact list clean.

Frequently asked questions

Zoho Inventory recommends deactivating rather than deleting a contact, so its transaction history is preserved.
