Adding Apps – Overview

Zoho One brings together several kinds of business apps under one platform: Zoho’s own applications, Marketplace apps and other third-party tools. This guide explains the app types available in Zoho One and how administrators manage access to each.

Zoho apps

These are the core Zoho business applications included in your Zoho One subscription, such as Zoho CRM, Zoho Books and Zoho People. Administrators can assign them with single sign-on from the One Launcher, set conditional assignment rules based on user criteria, and assign roles such as admin or salesperson from the Admin Panel.

Marketplace apps

Marketplace apps extend Zoho One with third-party and custom tools. These include custom apps built with Zoho Creator, ready-made Creator apps for common business tasks, and directory apps that connect to popular third-party platforms such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 using pre-configured single sign-on connectors.

Non-Zoho apps

You can also add other cloud or internal apps that aren’t in the Marketplace:

• SAML apps: connect other cloud applications using SAML-based single sign-on, useful for internal IT tools or legacy systems.
• Associated apps: configure single sign-on once for a parent app and link related apps to it, so they inherit the same sign-on settings.
• Bookmarked apps: add simple links, such as an intranet portal, to the One Launcher without requiring authentication.

Tips for managing apps

• Use conditional assignment rules to give new starters the right apps automatically.
• Keep user roles up to date in the Admin Panel so permissions stay correct.
• Review app usage periodically so your team only has access to what they need.
• Encourage staff to use the One Launcher to find and open their assigned apps in one place.
