What is the Monitoring Audit Log in Zoho Desk?

The Zoho Desk audit log records who changed what in your help desk, and when. It is the quickest way to trace an unexpected change to a workflow, investigate a data export, or show auditors that access to customer data is controlled.

What the audit log records

Every entry shows:

• The date and time of the action
• The user who performed it and their IP address
• The department
• The action, such as Add, Update, Delete, Export, Download, Online or Offline

It covers a wide range of entities, including departments, agents, workflows, blueprints, assignment rules, contacts, accounts and custom modules.

How to open the audit log

1. Make sure your profile has administrative permission.
2. Go to Setup > Privacy and Security > Audit Log.

Filter entries

Narrow the log by:

• Date: today, the last 7 days or a custom range
• User who made the change
• Department
• Entity, such as a module or configuration
• Action type

Export the audit log

• Exports are in CSV format.
• Each file can cover up to 30 days.
• You can export up to 50 audit logs per day, one at a time.
• You receive an email when the export is ready.

Good practice

• Review the log after major configuration changes and when staff leave.
• Export and store logs regularly if your compliance policy needs records beyond the retention period.
• Check your Zoho Desk edition, as audit log availability varies by plan.
