The General Settings section of the Catalyst Console lets you manage a project’s core information and configuration, including its key details, time zone, and deleting the project if it is no longer needed.

What General Settings shows

The General Settings panel gives a snapshot of your project, including its name, its system-generated project ID, your Catalyst account name, and the project’s current date, time and time zone.

You can switch between projects using the dropdown at the top of the console; selecting a different project updates the console to show its settings and data.

Changing the project time zone

By default, a project’s time zone is set by its data centre, but you can override this with a custom time zone from General Settings.

  1. Click the ellipsis icon in the General Settings section.
  1. Select Change Time Zone.
  1. Choose your preferred time zone from the list.
  2. Click Yes, proceed to confirm.

Once updated, the new time zone shows under General Settings and applies across your project’s features and components, such as logs, functions and deployments. Some components, such as Cron and Logs, can have their own time zone set, which overrides the project default for that component only.

Deleting a project

If you no longer need a project, you can delete it permanently from General Settings.

  1. Click Delete Project.
  1. In the confirmation popup, type DELETE in capital letters.
  1. Click Confirm.

Deleting a project is permanent. It removes all web, Android, iOS and Flutter apps under the project, all production deployments and environments, and access to project-related CLI, SDK and API operations. Back up anything you need before deleting.

Frequently asked questions

What determines my project’s default time zone?

By default, a Catalyst project’s time zone is set by the data centre it is hosted in, though you can override this with a custom time zone.

Can different components use different time zones?
