Invite collaborators to your Instagram posts

Instagram’s Collaborate feature lets you co-create a post with other Instagram accounts, and Zoho Social makes it easy to send those invites when you publish. This article explains the benefits and how to set it up.

What collaborating on a post does

The creator of a post can invite collaborators, and once they accept, the post appears on both profiles with likes, comments and engagement shared across both accounts. Your audience sees both the creator’s and collaborator’s names on the post, and you gain exposure to your collaborator’s followers as well as your own.

Why collaborate

  • Share resources and ideas: combine creativity, equipment and perspectives with another creator or brand.

For example, a travel brand collaborating with an influencer on a destination post reaches thousands of the influencer’s followers, some of whom go on to follow the brand too. A retailer with multiple branches can also use a collaborated post between its main account and a new local account to announce an opening to both audiences.

Feature availability

  • Available on Standard, Professional, Premium and Agency editions.
  • You can invite collaborators from the Zoho Social web app and iOS app.

How to invite collaborators to a post

  1. Click New Post in the top-right corner of your Social dashboard.
  2. Choose Instagram as the channel.
  3. Create your post, adding captions, media and hashtags.
  4. Click the tag/collaborate icon in the compose window.
  5. In the Invite Collaborators window, enter the exact usernames of the people you want to collaborate with.
  1. Click Save to confirm.
  2. Click Post Now to publish immediately, or schedule it using a specific date, add it to the queue, or choose a SmartQ slot.

Once published, an invitation is sent to your collaborators.

How to monitor collaboration invites

  1. Go to the Posts tab and open Published Posts.
  2. Select the post and open Post Details.

From here you can view the collaboration status and monitor the response. You can invite up to five collaborators per post.
