How to Configure Email and Push Notifications?

Zoho Connect notification preferences let you control which activities in your network trigger an email or push notification, so you stay informed without being overwhelmed. This guide covers setting them up.

What notification preferences cover

Preferences are organised into tabs: General, Groups, Forums and Boards, so you can set overall behaviour and then fine-tune it for individual groups or boards.

How to open notification preferences

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right corner of the Zoho Connect header.
  2. Select Notification Preferences from the dropdown.
  1. In the General tab, toggle the switch to turn email notifications on or off, then use the checkboxes to enable or disable individual notification types.

How to set preferences for groups

  1. Open Notification Preferences and click the Groups tab.
  2. Search or scroll the list on the left to find the group you want.
  1. Click the group name and choose the notification types (email, push) you want for it.

How to set preferences for forum posts

  1. Open Notification Preferences and switch to the Forums tab.
  1. Use the checkboxes to choose which forum notifications you want to receive.

How to set preferences for boards

  1. Open Notification Preferences and click the Boards tab.
  1. Find the board in the list, then choose which notifications to receive for task assignments, comments on tasks, and task completions or reopenings.

If Assigns a Task, Comments on a Task or Completes or Reopens a Task is switched off in the General tab, that notification is switched off on every board until you turn it back on in General.

Tips

  • Start with the General tab, since it sets the baseline that Groups, Forums and Boards notifications build on.
  • Review your preferences after joining a new group or board, as they use your existing General settings by default.

Where do I find notification settings in Zoho Connect?

Can I turn off notifications for just one group or board?

Yes, the Groups and Boards tabs let you search for a specific group or board and set its notification types separately.

Why can’t I turn on task notifications for one board?

Task notifications on individual boards depend on the equivalent setting being enabled in the General tab first. If it’s off there, it’s off everywhere until you switch it back on.
