Zoho People 5.0 reorganised the interface around dedicated spaces, with centralised settings and a new Operations hub, to make HR management faster and more collaborative.

New Home experience

My Space is now a personalised hub for every employee, with quick access to actions, service updates and daily reminders. Service tabs such as Leave, Attendance and Timesheet show relevant information in one place, alongside a career history view and an integrated attendance calendar.

Team Space simplifies collaboration with team details, groups, a department wall and celebrations, while a new Organisation Space gives everyone access to org-wide announcements, policy documents and the organisation tree.

Centralised settings and operations

All system, core and service-specific settings now sit in one centralised Settings area, including permissions, approvals, workflows, automation and integrations, alongside a new Organisation Setup page and an improved settings search.

A dedicated Operations hub brings together employee records, shifts, compensation, learning management, employee engagement and data administration, with role-based access that lets administrators grant data-only access without allowing configuration changes. Sandbox testing, copy customisation and data backup are also managed from here.

Smarter services

Services now offer a My Data view for employees and a Team view for managers, with more action-oriented tabs, for example Attendance now includes overtime and regularisation. Leave types have become structured leave policies with a pre-configured policy gallery, Shift is now an independent module, and Timesheet aligns with job schedules and pay periods.

Automation, performance and learning

Workflows, approvals and automation are now organised by service, with an e-sign flow for digital document signing. Performance management gains flexible appraisal templates, a Compensation service for salary history and revision letters, and dedicated spaces for goals, KRAs and competencies. The learning management system adds trainers, rooms and blended learning, and Employee Engagement gets simplified survey templates.

General improvements

Other changes include a subscription page showing file and API usage, custom widget support built on your own JavaScript framework, expanded Marketplace integrations, and a clearer split between administrators who manage data and those who manage configuration.
