Branch Transactions

Estimated reading: 3 minutes 324 views

Once you’ve set up your branches and configured a transaction series for each, you can start linking individual transactions to the branch they belong to. This keeps your tracking and reporting accurate at both branch and organisation level.

Associating branches with transactions

You can associate a branch with sales transactions (invoices, estimates, sales orders and similar), purchases (bills, purchase orders, expenses), manual journals, and bank transactions.

For example, to create an invoice for a specific branch:

  1. Go to Sales > Invoices and click + New at the top right.
  2. Select the Customer.
  3. Choose the Branch to associate with this transaction. Zoho Books updates the relevant address and transaction series based on the branch you choose.
  4. Enter the remaining details and click Save.

Viewing branch performance on the dashboard

Once you start associating transactions with branches, you can view each branch’s performance directly from the dashboard.

  1. Go to your Zoho Books dashboard.
  2. Click the All Branches dropdown in the top left corner.
  3. Select the branch whose performance you want to view.

Generating branch reports

Once transactions are associated with branches, you can generate reports for a specific branch or for all branches combined, to review profit, sales, expenses and other figures at branch or organisation level.

  1. Go to the Reports section.
  2. Open a report such as Profit and Loss, Sales by Customer or Expense Details.
  3. Use the Branch filter at the top of the report.
  4. Select a specific branch, or choose All Branches for a consolidated view.
  5. Click Run Report.

Showing branch details within a report

To include a branch column inside a report:

  1. Go to the Reports module.
  2. Select the report you want to view.
  3. Click Customise Report.
  4. Go to Show or Hide Columns.
  5. Select the Branches column to include it.
  6. Click Run Report to see the updated report with branch details.
