Composite Products

Composite products in Zoho Commerce let you group individual products into a kit or bundle, sold as a single item. When you build a bundle from existing catalogue products, the stock of each individual product goes down as bundles are created, while the composite product’s own stock goes up. This guide covers setting up composite products.

Enabling composite products

  1. Go to Products > Add Product and choose Add Composite Product from the dropdown.
  1. Click Enable in the confirmation pop-up.
  1. Scroll to Product Settings, toggle on Composite Products, and click Save.

Adding a composite product

  1. Enter the bundle name in the Title field. The URL fills in automatically.
  2. In the Add Composite Product section, click Add Product, select the products to bundle using the checkboxes, then click Add Products.
  3. The selected products appear with their quantity, selling price and retail price, which you can adjust.
  1. Click Copy from Total to calculate the bundle’s total cost.
  2. Add more products from the bottom left, or remove one with its [X] button.
  3. Fill in the SKU, description and other product details for the bundle.
  4. Enable inventory tracking and enter a quantity and low stock limit, or uncheck Track Inventory to disable it.
  5. Check Enable Bundling to create bundles from existing stock, which reduces the stock of the individual products used.

Product identifiers

Add identifiers where they apply: ISBN for books, UPC as used by retailers, EAN as commonly used in the EU, or MPN for a manufacturer’s own part number.

Bundle details

Once saved, the Bundle Details section lets you set the bundle quantity. Increasing it raises the composite product’s stock and reduces the stock of the individual products.

Images and SEO

Upload images for the bundle and its individual products in the same way as any other product. Add an SEO title and a keyword rich description to help the bundle appear in search results.

Specifications and custom fields

Add specifications under Settings > Specifications > General, then link them to your composite product. Any custom fields you have created also appear here for you to fill in.

Frequently asked questions

Does a composite product need its own stock?

It can track its own quantity, and creating a bundle also reduces the stock of the individual products used in it.

Can I add identifiers like ISBN or UPC to a composite product?

Yes, the same product identifier fields are available for composite products as for regular products.
