Introduction

The General Settings section in Catalyst Console allows you to manage essential project information and configuration. This includes viewing your project’s key details, changing the time zone, and deleting the project if necessary.

What is the General Settings Section?

The General Settings panel provides a snapshot of your project, including:

  • Project Name
  • Project ID (a unique, system-generated identifier)
  • Catalyst Account Name
  • Date, Time, and Current Time Zone of the project

You can switch between different projects using the dropdown at the top of the console. When you select a project from the list, the console updates to reflect the settings and data for the selected project.

Changing the Project Time Zone

By default, the time zone of your project is determined by the data center associated with it. However, you can override this and set a custom time zone for your project from the General Settings.

Steps to Change the Time Zone:

  1. Click the ellipsis () icon in the General Settings section.

2. Select Change Time Zone.

3. Choose your preferred time zone from the list.

4. Click Yes, proceed to confirm.

Once updated, the new time zone will be reflected under the General Settings and applied across all features and components of your project, such as logs, functions, and deployments.

Note: Some components like Cron and Logs allow you to set individual time zones, which will override the default project setting for those components only.

Deleting a Project

If you no longer need a project, you can permanently delete it from the General Settings page.

Steps to Delete a Project:

    1. Click Delete Project.

2. In the confirmation popup, type DELETE in all caps.

3. Click Confirm to proceed.

Warning: Deleting a project is permanent. It will remove:

  • All web, Android, iOS, and Flutter applications under the project
  • All production deployments and environments
  • Access to project-related CLI, SDK, or API operations

Make sure to back up any necessary data before deletion.

Summary

The General Settings section gives you control over core project configurations in Catalyst, including:

  • Viewing and managing basic project details
  • Setting a unified time zone across all components
  • Deleting projects when they’re no longer needed

Always proceed with caution when changing time zones or deleting projects to avoid unexpected impacts on your applications and deployments.
