Need to upload a lot of products to your Zoho Commerce store? No problem! With Zoho Commerce, you can import or export products in bulk using a simple CSV or XLS file. Whether you’re setting up your store for the first time or updating your inventory, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Before You Begin: File Format Guidelines

Make sure your CSV or XLS file is correctly formatted. Here are the key things to remember:

  • Mandatory fields:
    • Product Name
    • Product Handle (URL)
    • Selling Price
    • Inventory Tracking (If set to “YES,” make sure the Stock field is filled)
  • If a product has multiple variants, list each one on a separate row.
  • For attributes (like size or color), use matching names and types:
    • AttributeName1 should have a corresponding AttributeType1 and AttributeOption1.
  • If you’re using a color attribute, enter the color’s hex code in the AttributeOptionData field (e.g., #FF0000 for red). This helps display color swatches on your product pages.
  • To track inventory, enter Inventory under the ItemType column.
  • Make sure categories are created before you assign products to them.
  • Use all caps (YES or NO) for fields like:
    • Show in Store
    • On Sale
    • Qualified for Returns

 

How to Import Products

  1. In Zoho Commerce, go to Products > Import Products.

2.Download the sample CSV or XLS file and use it as a template for your product list.

 

3.Click Choose File to upload your file.

 

4.Select the Character Encoding and File Delimiter (defaults are UTF-8 and comma).

 

5.Click Next.

6.On the next screen, match each column in your file to the correct field in Zoho.
(Make sure the mandatory fields are mapped!)

 

7.Click Next to preview your data

8.If everything looks good, click Import to begin uploading.

 

Successfully imported products will show in the preview.

      
Any errors or failed uploads will be listed separately so you can fix them.

How to Export Products

Want to download your product list? Here’s how:

  1. Go to Products > Export Products.
  2. Choose your preferred format (CSV or XLS).
  3. Click Export to download the file.

Bulk Update Product Details

You can also use the import/export feature to update product details in bulk:

  1. Go to Products > Export Products and click Export.
  1. Open the downloaded file and make any changes (like pricing, stock, or product names).
  2. Save the file.
  3. Go back to Products > Import Products and follow the import steps above.

Your changes will be applied once the file is uploaded successfully.

Tips

  • Always start with the sample file to avoid formatting errors.
  • Double-check that all mandatory fields are filled—especially if Inventory Tracking is enabled.
  • For color swatches, use accurate hex codes to display the right shades on your product pages.
  • If you’re assigning products to categories, make sure those categories already exist in Zoho Commerce.
