Adding and Managing Obligations in a Counterparty Initiated Contract

Introduction

Adding and managing obligations in a counterparty-initiated contract works the same way as in an organization-initiated contract. For a general overview, see Obligation Management.

This section explains how to edit, duplicate, delete, pause, view history, and send reminders for obligations.

Step-by-Step Instructions

 

Edit an Obligation

  1. Go to the Contracts tab.
  2. Open the contract that contains the obligation.
  3. In the contract details panel on the left, click MoreObligations.
  4. Next to the obligation title, click MoreEdit.
  5. Update the fields in the Edit Obligation form.
  6. Click Update.

Duplicate an Obligation

  1. Go to the Contracts tab.
  2. Open the contract that contains the obligation.
  3. In the contract details panel on the left, click MoreObligations.
  4. Next to the obligation title, click MoreCreate a Copy.
    • The Create a Copy form appears with values from the original obligation.
  5. Modify the fields as needed.
  6. Click Add.

Delete an Obligation

  1. Go to the Contracts tab.
  2. Open the contract that contains the obligation.
  3. In the contract details panel on the left, click MoreObligations.
  4. Next to the obligation title, click MoreDelete.

Pause a Recurring Obligation

  1. Go to the Contracts tab.
  2. Open the contract that contains the recurring obligation.
  3. In the contract details panel on the left, click MoreObligations.
  4. Next to the obligation title, click MorePause Recurring.
  • The recurrence will remain paused until you select Resume Recurring using the same steps.

View Due History of a Recurring Obligation

  1. Go to the Contracts tab.
  2. Open the contract that contains the recurring obligation.
  3. In the contract details panel on the left, click MoreObligations.
  4. Next to the obligation title, click MoreView Due History.
  • The Due History of the obligation will be displayed.
  • You can:
    • Filter by due status using the picklist at the top.
    • Sort the results to show the latest due on top (or vice versa) by clicking Sort.

Send a Reminder

You can notify the obligation owner if their attention is required.

  1. Go to the Contracts tab.
  2. Open the contract containing the obligation.
  3. In the contract details panel on the left, click MoreObligations.
  4. Next to the obligation title, click MoreSend Reminder.
  • The obligation owner will receive a reminder notification.
