Introduction

A single-page website or landing page is a great way to showcase key information without overwhelming visitors with multiple clicks and navigation. This type of site is perfect for portfolios, personal brands, event promotions, product launches, and more.

With Zoho Sites, creating a single-page website is easy, and you can start with a pre-designed template or customize it to fit your needs. In this guide, we’ll show you how to create and customize a single-page site or landing page.

Step-by-Step Instructions

What Is a Single-Page Website?

A single-page website consolidates all the essential content into one long, scrollable page. This design is often used for:

  • Portfolios: Artists, photographers, and models can showcase their work in a seamless flow.
  • Event Websites: Promote an event by providing all relevant details—location, time, speakers, etc.—on one page.
  • Landing Pages: Drive user engagement or capture leads with a clear, focused message or call to action.

This type of website works especially well for minimalistic, straightforward presentations where the goal is to keep everything simple and easy to navigate.

Steps to Create a Single-Page Site on Zoho Sites

Whether you’re starting fresh or converting an existing site, Zoho Sites makes it simple to create a functional single-page site. Let’s break it down:

Choose the Right Template

When you’re setting up your website on Zoho Sites, the first step is to pick a theme. If you’re looking for a clean, modern look for a one-page site, Zoho Sites offers pre-designed single-page templates that are ready to use.

Here’s how to choose the right template:

  1. From the templates page, scroll through and find the “Single Page” templates, which are marked with a pink label.
  2. Select the template that best fits your needs. These templates come with pre-designed sections and layouts, making it easier to build your site quickly.
  3. Once you’ve selected the template, you can customize it to match your brand, content, and style.

Create the Home Page

If you’re starting from scratch and your site has no pages yet, you’ll need to create a Home Page as the foundation for your single-page site.

  1. In the left panel, click on Pages.
  2. Click Add Page.
  3. Follow the prompts to create the page.
  4. After creating the page, toggle Set as Home Page to make it the default landing page for your website.

Convert Your Website into a Single-Page Site

If you already have a website with multiple pages and want to convert it into a single-page site:

  • Go to Configuration > Menus from the left panel.
  • Delete any unnecessary pages to keep only the home page active. This will remove any navigation to additional pages.
  • Click Delete next to each extra page you don’t need, and confirm in the dialog box.
  • After deleting extra pages, click Save.

With only the home page left, your website will now function as a single-page site, where visitors can scroll through all content without any menu navigation.

Add Sections and Elements to Build Your Page

A default single-page layout typically starts with just one section. To expand your site, you can add multiple sections and elements to create a comprehensive, engaging experience.

To Add a Section:

  • Select the section you want to modify, then click Add Section.
  • Zoho Sites offers a variety of section styles, from text blocks to image galleries, so you can easily change the look and feel of your website.
  • You can also clone a section by clicking Copy if you want to repeat a section elsewhere on the page.

To Add an Element:

  1. Click the Add icon in the top-left corner of the page builder, then select Element from the options.
  2. A tray of elements will appear, from which you can drag and drop the desired elements—such as text, images, buttons, and forms—into the sections of your page.
  3. Alternatively, hover over a section where you’d like to add an element, and click Add Element to insert it directly into that section.
