Estimated reading: 2 minutes 87 views

Introduction

Once you’ve built your website in Zoho Sites – by selecting a template, adding elements, and customizing your content – it’s time to publish it. But before taking your site live, it’s essential to preview and verify that everything looks and functions as intended.

This article will walk you through previewing your website, publishing it to the web, and configuring a domain.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Preview Your Website

Purpose: Ensure your site appears correctly across all devices before publishing.

Steps:

  • Click the Preview icon located at the top-right corner of the builder header.
  • A live replica of your website will be generated.
  • Review layout, content, and functionality.

Device Optimization:

All Zoho Sites templates are automatically optimized for:

  • Mobile
  • Tablet
  • Desktop

You can preview your website for each of these device types to ensure consistency in appearance and responsiveness.

2. Publish Your Website

Once you’re satisfied with the preview, you’re ready to go live.

Steps:

  • Click the Publish button at the top-right corner of your builder.
  • Your site will become publicly accessible to anyone with the domain URL.

Note: Zoho Sites templates are mobile-friendly by default, so your published site will be accessible and functional across all devices.

3. Configure Your Domain

Before your site goes live, you must choose a domain. Zoho offers three domain options when you publish for the first time:

Domain Options:

  • Free Subdomain: Ideal for testing or personal websites.
  • Buy a New Domain: Purchase a domain through Zoho.
  • Map Existing Domain: Use a domain you already own and point it to Zoho Sites.

Choose the option that best fits your needs, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete domain setup.
